VAN NUYS, Calif. – April 18, 2016 – Easton Baseball/Softball, a leading manufacturer of baseball and softball equipment, announced today a new partnership with Jen Schroeder, a former UCLA Bruins fastpitch softball star who is now one of the world’s top softball catching instructors.
“I’m excited to officially partner with EASTON, one of the most iconic and trusted brands in our sport,” Schroeder said. “Spending time developing young female athletes is my passion. With EASTON as a partner, I’m able to take this to new levels by providing key insights that I see on the field for product development and help athletes find their ultimate performance level.”
Schroeder played for the Bruins from 2004 to 2008, including 48 starts behind the plate during her senior season. Showcasing her defensive excellence, she posted a .996 fielding percentage in 2008 with just two errors. Schroeder was named by the Pacific Coast Conference (PAC) as an All-PAC 10 honoree and was a three-time Division I NCAA Women’s College World Series participant.
“Jen Schroeder will be a valuable part of the EASTON team, and we’re proud she chose EASTON,” said Francesca Enea, Sports Marketing Manager, Easton Softball. “The consumer insights we receive from Jen and her team help our R&D engineers continue to elevate player performance and protection year after year. We’re looking forward to this partnership, incorporating Jen into our grassroots events around the country and utilizing her very influential voice as a marketing tool.”
Today, Schroeder leads Jen Schro Catching, one of the nation’s premier fastpitch camps, and is a founder of The Packaged Deal, a comprehensive softball clinic focused on pitching, catching, fielding and hitting. EASTON will participate in Schroeder’s clinics, gaining on-field exposure to more than 5,500 top fastpitch players every season.
Schroeder, who is one of the most influential fastpitch voices on social media, will exclusively use EASTON equipment and will attend several events as part of the EASTON team. This includes elite showcase tournaments such as the Sparkler and Fireworks in Colorado, during which she will interact with consumers, provide coaching and showcase the innovations behind EASTON fastpitch equipment.
In addition to her role on the EASTON grassroots event team, Schroeder will provide feedback to the EASTON product teams to further advance next-generation fastpitch equipment, particularly around catcher’s gear and apparel.
